Meet Network In Action Group Leaders Helen and Oscar Maldonado
Dating back to Network In Action’s first meeting, Helen Maldonado “absolutely loved” the concept. At the time, she was in four groups throughout the Houston market, often pushing her husband, Oscar, to join her. Of all the networking groups, Oscar was most impressed with Network In Action. In fact, Oscar was the driving force behind the couples decision to franchise with the concept, even asking his wife, “Why aren’t we doing this?” while reviewing the franchise agreement.
So, as Helen puts it, they “jumped in!” In May 2018, Helen and Oscar launched their first NIA group in Katy, Texas, and were named the fastest-growing NIA franchise of the year. Fast forward to today, the Maldonados have maintained three NIA groups and have even grown during the pandemic.
“Thanks to the corporate team, we’ve been able to keep everyone connected this year, despite the pandemic. Our members really appreciated everything we have provided – Zoom, education, hybrid meetings – nobody else did that,” said Helen. “We’re providing more than any other networking concept out there.”
For Helen and Oscar, owning a Network In Action franchise is their retirement goal, but there’s more to it than that:
“What’s exciting to me is being able to help our members build their businesses,” said Oscar. “Because we own the franchise, we have a vested interest in the success of each of our members, and we want them to come back to us at the end of the year looking to reserve a spot for next year.”
And for those considering franchising with NIA? Helen believes that “If you care about growing other people’s businesses and putting your expertise to work to help other people, you’re going to be great.”
“NIA is the best model to do that,” she added.
